het leek me wel leuk om een topic te hebben waarin iedereen wijze quotes kan achterlaten: van beroemde of minder beroemde personen, uit het heden of verleden, christelijk of niet christelijk. Als er maar iets van een inzicht of wijze les uit te halen valt. Dus geen quotes van het de-pagina-die-je-niet-wilt-lezen-kaliber.
laat ik maar beginnen met 1 van mijn grote voorbeelden:
'God fluistert tot ons in onze vreugde; Hij spreekt in ons geweten; maar Hij roept keihard in ons lijden. Dat lijden is Zijn megafoon om een dove wereld wakker te roepen.'

P.S.1 als er al zo'n topic als dit bestaat maar ik dat over het hoofd heb gezien, wil iemand dan zo vriendelijk zijn mij daarop te wijzen? Dan kan dit topic natuurlijk verwijderd worden.
P.S.2 ik ben niet zo bekend met fora, maar de beste plaats voor dit topic leek mij binnen de categorie 'Geloof', maar mocht iemand daar anders over denken, dan kan hij ook verplaatst worden. |

en toch he... als het weer onverwachts omslaat zodat je je kleding er niet op aan KUNT passen (omdat je op je werk geen extra kledingkast heb staan), waardoor je zo nat wordt dat je gewoon kou vat, dan noem ik dat slecht weer. |

A culture capable of such things--and of the surrender of faith necessary to sustain them--is something rare and delightful, which cannot be recovered once it is lost. |

Eigenlijk heb je het hele verhaal nodig om de conclusie goed te begrijpen, maar het is in ieder geval wijs. Uit 'Revelation':
